This Blog is about the news over all of the different people that are planning on running for the next presidential race. The thing about this to me is that who in their right mind would want to vote for some of these idiots. We are not actually that stupid are we? The list goes on and on from people like Sarah Palin to Donald Trump to even Lady Gaga. The thought of Lady Gaga running the country is quite appalling to say the least. First thing is that you have to be older than thirty five to be president and Lady Gaga is only twenty five. Well I guess that’s one crisis adverted. Sara Palin is one person that always seems to be in the news about her running in 2012. This woman is unbelievable; I can't understand how she thinks that she is the right person for the job. Governor of Alaska, let's see then that gives her about as much qualifications as the mayor of Joplin. Obama, our current president, has obviously shown us that he is the worst president in recent history. He has accomplished absolutely nothing during his presidency besides force a healthcare bill onto the American people that they did not want. Some legacy that is. The fact is that this country is not in need of some charismatic leader. We don’t need a politician that can b.s. his way to the top and then kiss ever bodies asses to keep the position. I am personally sick and tired of all of these politicians trying to weave what they say so that no one gets offended. I personally believe that if you're speaking honestly about any important subject then you are probably going to offend someone. I know that this blog will probably offend someone but that is ok. I am entitled to my opinion and they are entitled to theirs. I invite them to comment back who knows I might actually change my opinion. The final person that I seen talk about running was Donald Trump. My first thought was really? Is this just some dumb publicity stunt? Then the more I thought about it the more I was considering the possibilities of Trump as president. First off he defiantly doesn't want to do it for money, Trump has plenty of that. Secondly he's not doing it for power because most people know that a billionaire has more power than the president of the United States. Thirdly maybe this is exactly what this country needs. Think about it, what is our worst problem we as a country have right now? Money, the economy is in terrible shape and who better to fix it then a billionaire that has handled huge amounts of money in and out of countless numbers of businesses. This country needs someone that knows their way around a budget and how to make a company successful. Besides the fact who wouldn’t want to see Donald go into some of these Washington fat cats offices and say "your Fired!"

Solution to high gas prices!
I recently was on Facebook and seen one of my friends was trying to get people to join together and have a gas boycott on a day in the near future to protest the high gas prices. The first thing that I thought about doing was deleting my friend for joining in on such a ludicrous idea. I couldn’t believe that he actually believed that this would work. As I looked more into it I realized that a lot of people think that this would work. IT WON'T!!!! I promise you that no big oil company is going to care in the least bit if you don’t buy gas on Thursday the 31st. The idea is that they will get hit because they won't sell any gas on the 31st so they will have record low sales. The other side of this that people don’t realize is that then they will have record high sells on the 1st because everyone that didn’t buy gas on the 31st now has to fill up the very next day. Now don’t get me wrong I do think that something needs to be done but this is not the answer.
I propose a better solution all together. If a boycott is what people are willing to do then it needs to be done the right way. Don’t just boycott all gas for a day; instead what needs done is for someone to decide on one single company, like Exxon Mobile or ConocoPhillips. Then we as a nation or at least however many people that we can get together and completely stop buying from that one company. The only way it would work is if a very large number of people did this at once. All the people that agree to not buy from this one company should do it indefinably. Set goals like "only buy from this company if the gas drops below $2.00 a gallon there. This would cause the company to have to drop prices eventually or go out of business. Trust me they will cave. Then all the other companies will have to follow suit to be competitive with the one that the people caused to drop prices. This would work and I don’t think it would take very long for that said company to start dropping prices.
The problem with fuel prices is that the big oil companies set their prices on predictions of supply and demand. If they think that supply will drop then they raise prices if they think that demand will go up they raise prices. They don’t do this when supply goes down or when demand goes up they do it when they feel like it. Demand like summer driving should not raise prices. There are plenty of refineries running at less than half of their abilities just to keep supply down and prices high. The other thing that could be done is that this country buys more of the world's oil than any other three countries combined. We as a nation or government could set the price that we are willing to pay per barrel but we don’t. All we as a country would have to say is this is how much we are willing to pay for a barrel and not a penny more either sell it to us for that price or someone else will. We have that power as consumers but we don’t use it instead we let these money hungry oil tycoons set their prices and we just take it.
Japan Quake
This blog is about the 8.9 magnitude earthquake that happened this morning in Japan. The Quake hit at about 3:00 a.m. our time this was about mid day their time. The Earth quake was the biggest that Japan has recorded in recent history and one of the biggest ever recorded anywhere. The Damage from the quake didn't seem near as extreme as the damage that the tsunami after the quake caused.
I woke up this morning at 6:30 to take my oldest son to school as I was driving I heard the reports on the radio about the disaster. As soon as I got home I turned on the T.V. to see what was going on. The devastation that was being shown on the T.V. was amazing to say the least. I couldn't help to be slightly in awe of the power and force that comes with an earthquake. I personally have never been in an earthquake and don't think that I would want to be in one. We in the Midwest don't ever really have to worry about such a thing.
Our main concern is Tornadoes around here, they too can be quite awe inspiring. I for one have seen several tornadoes up close and personal and I'm quite amazed with them as well. The forces of nature on this Earth have got to make you sit back and think about how miniscule we really are. In the wake of a major earthquake, tsunami, tornado, or hurricane we are just dots on the horizon. As I watched those videos this morning (and a better part of the day) I thought about all of this and how is it that I could possibly have days where I think that I am the center of my own universe. We are small compared to nature and if we think that we are special as individuals and that it wouldn’t happen to us we are sadly mistaken. Even an earthquake is possible, even right here in good ole Joplin Missouri. There is a fault line called The New Madrid that runs not too far south of I-44 and it is said that the last time that fault line had a quake it made the Mississippi river run backwards. That alone is amazing but imagine the destruction and damage that it would cause in this area with half of the land we live on undercut with all kinds of Mines.
I feel really bad for the people of Japan and I wish that all that are trapped or lost will be rescued. I believe that human life is sacred and we should do all we can to protect it whether or not we know the people that are in trouble. This is part of the reason that I plan to become a doctor because I want to help people. If I was already a Trauma surgeon I would probably be on a plane right now to Japan to see what I could do to help the people of that country.
