Man sues Mcdonalds because hes fat

This article is about a man in Brazil that is suing McDonalds for being fat. But no not what you might think. He is suing as a former employee, manager to be exact. He states that he felt that he needed to taste the food from time to time because there are “mystery customers” that would come in and audit their food.  Supposedly the man had gained 65 pounds during his dozen years that he worked for McDonalds. The judge in the case ordered that McDonalds has to pay the man 17,500 dollars.
First off this is hilarious. A fat man blaming the place that he got the food for being fat. I am bigger than I would like to be but I know whose fault that is, its sure not McDonalds any other fast food place that I may have eaten at in the last few years.  If a person is obese then it is that person alones fault. Baring any unseen problems like an over active thyroid if your fat its because you eat too much and don’t get up enough to work it off. It is a simple as this, if you take in more calories than you burn off then you will store fat.  Your body is designed this way and that is what will happen whether you like it or not.
As far s the guy suing McDonalds I hope they counter sue just to keep this guy from getting a dime. I am about sick of seeing lazy people wanting to make money off of suing someone. There is a place for suing but because you don’t know how to put down the supersized fries you shouldn’t be rewarded.  I wish that we could find a way to keep these stupid suits out of the courts so that our tax payer dollars don’t get wasted on a judge listening to someone blaming someone else for all their problems. And yes I know this happened in Brazil but it happens here everyday too.

Terror Attempt failed

This story is about the packages that had bomb material in it heading to the United States from a Muslim country.  It goes over the fact that this occurred just a week before election time and what implications that it would have on the upcoming election. The president responded quickly with a press conference in light of the views of most people that he is soft on terrorism.
First off is this the reason that he responded in the way he did then I am sickened by the way that was handled. It is a sad thing that all decisions by politicians are only in hopes of getting the ones that they want to be elected. Secondly it is kind of ironic that this package was sent at this time. At least one of the packages was destined to a Jewish synagogue in Chicago Illinois. It is sad that after all these years Jews are still the target of such hate crimes. This is also the reason that we can’t let our guard down against terrorism because just as soon as we do they will strike us.
I do wish that we could live in piece in this world and that everyone could just get along. I am also not fickle enough to believe that this will ever actually happen. Until we get rid of all the extremists on this planet the rest of us will never be safe. And as long as we keep letting them get into this country we as Americans defiantly will never be safe. I do believe that measures should be taken to greater increase our safety but this catch is a good thing and I hope that they catch all instruments of terror off of our soil. Hopefully my kids can grow up in a safer world than this one is right now.

University Experiance

My first post this week is going to have to be a complaint. I don’t know about the rest of you but part of my being able to graduate from MSSU is that I have to take a university Experience class. This class is the most pointless class that I have ever taken in my life. I absolutely hate that class. I am 27 years old, I have three kids, I was a supervisor of a manufacturing plant for 4 years. The last thing that I need in college is to learn how to balance a check book, learn how to live without mommy and daddy, or any other god awful thing that they are going to try to “teach” me. For one thing I’ve been in the “real world” for ten years now. What could some college professor possibly teach me about getting surviving that I didn’t already know?  Now don’t get me wrong my professor is not a bad person or bad professor by any means and I do believe that there are college students that actually need this course to help them get their heads on straight. But I am defiantly not one of them. There needs to be a stipulation on that course that says if your 25 or have children or have been out of high
school for more than a year you don’t have to take the stupid course. For anyone that hasn’t had the joyous experience of this class we are also reading a book that is based around religious tolerance and comparing Christianity and islam as if they are the same. Not a big surprise since I am going to a liberal arts college but I mean really guys? I am also required to write a report describing how my journey as a first year student is like the one in this book. I am not a fan of this class obviously and would love to see the rules changed for future students to save them the aggravation that I have gone through.

Dead woman Rides in car for 10 months

This story is about a woman that befriended a homeless woman and let her sleep in her car. The story starts out interestingly kind. The woman felt sorry for the homeless woman and didn’t want her to have to sleep out on the street. The problem with this was that the homeless woman died in her car. To worsen things the woman didn’t report this to the authorities, instead she chose to leave the body in her car and drive around it with the stench of a rotting corpse for 10 months.
When I first read this story I was shocked. I couldn’t believe that this lady was crazy enough to leave this body in her car. What more is how could she stand the smell? The report did state that the woman had placed a box of backing soda in the car to help with the smell. I for one couldn’t imagine that the baking soda actually did much for the smell. I don’t think that backing soda could stop the stench of rotting tuna salad let alone a dead body.  I also wonder how it was that for ten months nobody around her noticed a dead body in her car. I mean not the neighbors, not people at the grocery store, not anybody. The only people to notice were police that were responding to a call and could smell the body and then went to investigate. I can’t say what it is like in Costa Mesa were this all happened but I imagine that you couldn’t get around with a dead body in your car for ten months here in Joplin, MO. At least I hope not. I hope that if this woman isn’t charged for any wrong doing that they at least get her some help or counseling. As far as the homeless woman that died I’m guessing that she probably died in her sleep and it was a peaceful death for her so that is good.

Obama care

This story is about the insurance companies trying now to help republican candidates to get into office so that they can manipulate them into changing the health care bill. They gave millions to the democrats in 2009 to help get Obama care passed in the first place. Now that they got that passed they want for republicans to change the bill so that there are fewer regulations on the insurance companies.
This is the kind of stuff that aggravates me. It goes to show that the big companies control these politicians that we have in Washington. They get what they want by paying off whichever politician that they need for the vote to pass. Apparently there isn’t anyone left in Washington that still cares about doing the right thing. We as a country need to fix this and fix it fast. We need to find a way to get the people that are only there for the money to leave. We also need to start voting for politicians that will fight to get rid of big business influences. I find it hard to believe that these companies can be ran by such unethical leaders. But then again we are talking about insurance companies so how ethical could they really be right?  I personaly hope that republicans take over the house and senate and get rid of obama care once and for all. I just hope that they don’t screw anything else up why they are there.

Chile Miners

Here is a story covering the Chile miners. The story goes into a report about the health of the Chile miners after they have been recovered from the mine. It tells that the miners have almost all been checked out and are physically healthy. It also talks about how they have some psychological issues that still need to be resolved.
First off psychological issues…of course they have psychological issue who wouldn’t after sixty nine days of being buried alive. I know that I would have to be at least a little damaged after such an experience. I am grateful that they got these guys out and I’m really glad to see good news on the TV for once. In the midst of all the garbage on TV now days it is refreshing. There are so many questions I and probably everyone else following this story would love to be able to ask these guys. Of course they should have the chance to get reacquainted with their families and all first. I hope that we hear more about them and their time underground I only hope that it doesn’t get exploited by Hollywood too soon. I do hate it when the movie producers go and make a story more than what it actually was or just completely change it all together. Some things are just better left alone by the producers.

I'll have a Whopper....hold the Condom

This is a story about a man that supposedly bit into a “Whopper” at “Burger king” and found a condom. The man was trying to sue the Burger king that this supposedly happened at. The store counter sued him and apparently it was settled out of court.
My first thoughts on this were that it’s just another person out there with a get rich quick scheme. I am sure that this was something that the person placed inside his own burger thinking that he would strike it big like the woman that burned herself with Mc Donald’s coffee. This is what sickens me today of people in this country. Everyone wants to get rich but no one wants to have to work for it. How many times have we seen stories about people putting things in their food and then claiming that some restaurant did it? It’s this mentality that is bringing this country down people don’t want to work for a living so they try and find whatever way they can to get out of doing anything. This includes suing someone, government hand outs (and no I don’t mean anything about the people that actually need the handouts) stealing, or whatever other scheme they can come up with. I wish that people would stop trying to get their incomes handed to them and start putting that amount of effort into trying to find a job or make a living the fair and just way.
To finish I would like to say that if this man’s claims were true then I really feel for him I couldn’t imagine biting into a whopper to find a condom that is just sick. But I still don’t think that he deserves tons of money for it that’s ridicules.

JOhnny Depp suprises school girl

This story is about Johnny Depp going to a young girl’s school and visiting with her after she wrote a letter to Captain Jack Sparrow. She wrote in her letter that she wanted to stage a mutiny in her school to over throw the teachers. Depp came to her school and surprised her telling her that staging a mutiny would probably not be a good idea and it would probably get her in trouble.
It was nice to see him do this for this young girl. I bet that it made her day, maybe even life. I can’t imagine how excited she must have been to see him walk in. I am personally a big fan of Johnny Depp and love his movies. All though I’m more of a fan of the less mainstream movies that he’s been in. I think it is nice that someone as famous and busy as he is can take the time out of their day and do something like this. I would like to see this story get talked about all over the media instead of some of the other trash they have to talk about. Like the stories about Favre and such as that. This story didn’t even make it to the MSN homepage. We need more people like him in the spotlight.

Bush's New Book

Here is an article that covers George W. Bush speaking at the University of Mobile in Alabama. He was talking about his new book that is coming out November 9th. He says in his book he will explain some of the decisions that he was faced with during his pregnancy and the facts that were given to him. He invites people to think about what they would have decided to do in his situation.
I am kind of interested in reading his book. I think that the man as a president received one hell of a wrap for the war and other decisions that he made. I’m not saying that all of his decisions were good but I also don’t believe he was as terrible as people make him out to be. A lot of the hatred over Bush was due in part because he didn’t speak eloquently. Also I don’t believe anyone can be in that position and not be criticized to death. We as a country no longer have any respect for the office of president and that is sad. Maybe it’s due in part to our complete distrust in politicians. I know that each year that I see the election campaigns I have to think to myself and wonder, “is this really the best we have?” The Sara Palin’s and Barrack Obamas are a sad example of people to lead this country. These people are seriously lacking in the experience category. We need a better group of politicians in the white house.  Maybe someone that is actually there for the good of all the people in America and not just himself. I don’t think that we will see this anytime soon. Everyone has their own agenda and that’s all they are going for. I hope that someday soon this country as a people wake up and start voting for a decent candidate.

Favre in trouble

This is a Story just released about Brett Favre. Brett is apparently going through a scandal like the one that Tiger Woods went through awhile back. This Reporter named Jenn Sterger and Brett apparently had a fling two years ago. A website called Deadspin released photos of Brett Favre that were below the waist shots also some voicemails that were apparently sent from Brett to this reporter.
My First reaction to this was “seriously” I can’t believe another famous athlete is going to be dragged through the mud once again just for some upset women looking to get their 15 minutes of fame. I am so sick of seeing these guys that are incredible athletes getting their careers tarnished because of something they were doing in their private time. Tiger’s extramarital affairs had nothing to do with his ability to swing a golf club and neither does Farves affairs have anything to do with how he throws a football. These guys are alpha males, this means they are superior athletes and as such are chalked full of testosterone. Their natural tendencies are going to tempt them towards cheating. No I don’t mean that what they have done should be excused. I just think that hearing about it on the news is none of our business. What Favre or Tiger or any other athlete does in their personal time is between them and their wives. As for being in the media there is no excuse for it. These guys are not high profile preachers or politicians. They are athletes and they are good at it and if it has nothing to do with performance enhancing drugs keep it off the news. As far as Favre goes I hope that his great football legacy doesn’t get tarnished for this instance. I also hope that the NFL stays the heck out of it.

Man delivers baby 28miles out to sea

This story is from WPBF an ABC news station. The story tells of a couple that were sailing when the woman went into premature labor. The couple were 28miles out at sea when the husband delivered the baby.  The father claimed that the storm kicked up some bumpy waves and he thinks that is what caused his wife to go into labor. After the couple made it to shore they safely got mom and the new baby to the hospital both were fine. They named the child Bearing (after the GPS) because they had no idea where they were or where the baby was actually born.
My first thought on this is wow what an amazing story. The couple was able to deliver a baby and keep mom and baby safely all the way to the shore. I have three children so I know firsthand this is something better left to the professionals. I wouldn’t even begin to know what to do or how to do it. It did say that the woman had kids before and walked the husband through it. Wow I can’t believe that through her other kids’ births that she had the ability to pay enough attention to remember what to do this time. The one other thing that I thought was odd was what the heck were they doing almost thirty miles out to sea when she was 36 weeks pregnant? Are they crazy? You are not supposed to go on long trips when you are that far along let alone go sailing in the open sea. Who’s idea was this? I find it amusing that we ogle over this story because it turned out a happy ending but if just the slightest thing went differently we would be reading a completely different story and the joy would have been sorrow and this guy would have had to explain why he took his pregnant wife out to see when she was that far along.

Halo Reach

This story is one covering the recent release of the video game Halo Reach. Reach is the fourth title released from the video game company called Bungie. The review tells how Bungie completely restyled the game from the previously released titles. The article praises Bungie for actually working on the game when they just as well have made a basic copy of the previous games gave it a bit of a different story and released it. If they would have done this Bungie would have still made a killing with the release but wouldn’t have had to put much effort into the game.
First I have to say that I am a big gamer. I love video games and I really love the Xbox platform. Someone out there might criticize this post of mine about it just being a video game and not really news worthy. The thing that they have to realize is that the video game industry is huge, It accounts for more total net sales then theaters, DVDs, CDs, and all other electronics combined. The game franchise that this article is written about just very well be the main reason that Microsoft’s Xbox platform even made it off the ground. Halo was the only reason that I bought an Xbox in the first place. Now days I don’t play much Halo, I have found that I enjoy another series better called Call of Duty. Call of duty is another game in the first person shooter game category. The fact is that the “kids” game system has grown up and isn’t something that just the kids play anymore. With an Xbox you can instantly stream movies from Netflix, check your Facebook, or even soon to be watch ESPN and shop retail outlets. If anyone still doesn’t think that a video game can be a viably important subject they should stop by a gamestop at midnight on a release day.

Obama's re-election chances slide down more

This was a story on FOX news. The story goes through a bunch of polls and different things that show that Obama’s backing is slipping. The first thought that I have on this is “here we go again” I love our electoral system and I love our democracy but I absolutely hate the campaigning system we have in this country and the way we as citizens are treated like we are stupid. The ads always begin with some bs about how the person that they are supporting is so great. They usually make up some misconstrued numbers about how he or she is the “one” for the job. Then the ads usually go on and talk about how terrible the person that they are campaigning against is.
One thing that I am curious about is if these poll results are correct or not. It always seems that FOX’s polls make Obama look horrible and CNN or MSNBC make whomever the republican candidate is look horrible. I personally like to vote for the person that’s the best for the job. The problem with this is that with all the media bias and lies from politicians how the heck could you possibly know who is telling the truth. I do believe one thing for sure, that is if these people are the best that these parties have to offer then it’s a sad state we are in as a nation. I know people off the street that would make better presidents then Barrack Obama (no don’t get offended Libs cause I also don’t believe that Palin could do any better) actually the last presidential candidate that I seen that would be actually worth going out to vote for was Ross Perot. The last time he ran was 14 years ago. This is a sad political state that we are in as a country and I fear its only going to get worse.
