Obama's Birth certificate

This blog is about the recent release of President Obama's long form birth certificate. I honestly wasn’t too excited to see this brought up again in the media. Especially by someone that I think, despite all the hype over him, could be a good presidential candidate, Donald Trump. The fact of the matter is that this shouldn’t even be an issue. Who cares about bashing the whole birth certificate thing again when there are so many more issues at stake? Why on earth anyone would choose to criticize Obama about his birth certificate when there are so many other issues that would be easier to down him about. Why not bring up the fact that his health care bill was a complete joke and he tried to force it down the American people's throats when we were screaming no we don’t want it. He is completely out of touch with reality and his God complex has made him an easy target for political opponents. He is a terrible president and what's worse is that he thinks he is doing a good job. Trump doesn’t need to attack his birth certificate he could chose so many topics that would better suit a presidential rival. How about Gas prices? How about the economy? How about his handling of anything that has slid across his desk since he's been in office?
That being said we also got to look at this from another perspective. I heard an interview with Obama and he said that this shouldn’t be an issue and that it is a distraction to the real problems at hand. Ok, then why the hell did you let it go on for almost three years? Why didn’t he release this birth certificate when the subject first arose? There has been so much distraction from the real issues in the past few years caused by this stupid birth certificate. We have heard countless arguments over the years from numerous people that are wasting our airtime on TV to talk about it. Obama himself has talked about it over and over in many different interviews. All a big waste of time that he could have clear up within weeks of the issue arising. This to me means that either one he is hiding something and has taken this long so that he might cover up the facts in the issue. Or two he wanted to draw it out for as long as possible so that he might take the biggest advantage of the situation at the perfect time. I for one am going with the second choice because I'm sure that the cunning president was just waiting to be able to throw it in the right persons face. If that is the case then Obama has been the biggest time waster of them all and all the slams that he throws at his opponents about this should actually be addressed back to him. He is the one that let this tirade go on and on for three years and he is the one to blame for all the wasted space that the "birther" argument has taken up.
And just in case I get a liberal comment back to this blog…"no I am not racist, I judge people based on their actions and just because I don’t agree with someone does not mean that it has anything to do with skin color."

Tornado Damage

This blog goes out to all those hurt in the recent tornado outbreak in the south. I have seen a lot on the news about the damage that has been caused and the death toll that has racked up because of the damage. It makes me think about the several tornadoes that I have personally seen living in Kansas. We used to go out every time that it stormed and "chased" tornadoes I have seen quite a few and watched some pretty amazing sites with my own bare eyes. Now don’t get me wrong I have never been as close as they show in the movie Twister but I have been closer than most would want to be. The point of all this is that I always thought that they were an amazing site. I often dreamed of getting closer to one and watching as it tore through the fields around my house. But that is all they were for me and my friends, just some amazing source of entertainment. That was just how it was growing up in south east kansas. We knew that every year that there would be tornadoes and we would probably go a few days without power because of one.
I think that is why the devastation was so great in the areas that these hit this year. I like most people from around here know when a tornado is possible. Most people that have lived here all their lives know if the clouds are just right or the rain falls in just the right way then a tornado is either coming or about to. I don’t believe that the people in these areas know that feeling. I would imagine that they just thought that there was a bad storm coming but they would be fine. I'm not saying that they were dumb or something like that just didn’t have the knowledge that living around these things for 28 years gives you.
That also goes for saying that when a tornado comes down in Kansas it can be the biggest tornado ever recorded, it could cut a path two miles wide and a hundred miles long, the difference is in Kansas that tornado might hit two houses through all that destruction so the death tolls are not ever as high as they were down in Alabama. This is the other main reason that the loss is so staggering for a tornado to kill three hundred people in Kansas it would have to take out most of the sate unless it hit Wichita, Topeka, or Kansas City.
My heart goes out to all those affected by the storms this past week and I pray that everything will get put back in its place and that those lost will be in a better place now.

Government Trying to save money

This article was over the government spending cuts and what they think that they want to do about our huge deficit. The article claims that the house has set up a plan that will save the government 6.2 trillion dollars in a matter of ten years. The problem with this cut is that it is going to take money from places that really need it. The money is going to come from various places but most notably was the cuts to Medicare for the elderly. The Democrats argue that the money will hurt seniors and the republicans say that it won't affect them.
The fact is that these people don’t even see how pitiful the American people think that they are. The truth is we are sick and tired of them trying to cut spending from this program or that program all the while their salaries keep going up. The average congressman makes $174,000 per year. This all when the average tax payer makes $50,221 per year that is a difference of $123,779. I am not trying to say that they shouldn’t get paid for what they do but this is crazy.  On top of all that they also get free health care for them and their families. So why they are trying to figure out how they are going to make us pay for our insurance they are calling the family doctor ever time that they get the sniffles and we are paying for it.
I don’t think that Americans are just going to sleep through this any longer. It is time we wake up and give these idiots in Washington their wakeup call. It doesn’t even matter anymore what side you are on democrat, republican, tea party, whatever they call themselves these days they are all only out for themselves. The republicans didn’t wake up during the election of 2008 and the democrats sure as hell didn’t wake up during the midterm elections. We as Americans need to stand up and tell them that we don’t want their crappy self serving government anymore. Yes we want change but not in the form of another smooth talking do nothing president. I vote that we get rid of everyone that has been in office politics for more than a year and get a whole new bunch of people in there that actually wants to make things better in this country.
No matter what side you are on you have got to agree that we need this government to stop and ask the American people what they want. It is supposed to be a government for the people by the people not a self serving piece of wasted space like most of the politicians we currently have in office now.

Week to forget

Last week was one for the record books for my wife and I. We started off the week everything fine. We left for school and started our days as usual. Half way through the day our oldest son's school called and left a message for me concerning his behavior at school. I called back his teacher and found out that he had been not paying attention all day and refusing to do his school work. After talking to his teacher for awhile he had a pretty rough evening at home. We grounded him and sent him to bed early. The next day went ok until around 1. His school called again and asked for us to come to the school. Our son was sitting in the office and was in big trouble. We talked to his principal and she told us that he had been wrestling in the lunch room with another kid and somehow managed to stab the other kid in the arm with a fork. The principal said that it wasn’t done out of anger and that the other kid was fine but our son was going to be in in school suspension for the next two days. This of course got him in way more trouble at home. The next day was the one that really took the cake. My wife and I both got home from school and we were watching a little TV. All of the sudden we heard a woman yelling outside and banging on a door. We both looked outside and didn’t see where it was coming from. A little while later we noticed about eight cop cars pull up in front of our house. My wife and I both went outside to see what was going on. After watching the cops walk around my neighbor's house several times I decided to go up to a couple of the officers and see what was going on. I talked with two of the officers and found out that my neighbor across the street had family members calling the police saying that they thought that he was going to hurt himself. I talked with them a little while longer and they said that they were going to leave but if I noticed my neighbor's car home later to call them and let them know so they could come talk to him. After all the cops left I ran up to the store and as I was pulling in back at home I noticed that his car was home. My wife had walked over to see what was going on and my neighbor's wife and my wife were on the porch trying to get into the house. When I got there she asked me to get into the door however I could so I broke in the Plexiglas on the door so that I could reach in and unlock it. When we got inside I found my neighbor unconscious with a suicide note on his chest. My wife immediately called 911 and I started trying to get him to wake up and respond to me. I did get him to at least acknowledge me and soon after the ambulance showed up and took him to the hospital. We found several pill bottles and to our best estimate he had taken between 300 to 350 benzodiazepines. He is ok now and thankfully we found him when we did but that was one heck of a week and I hope that we don’t have to go through another like that.

2012 presidential race

This Blog is about the news over all of the different people that are planning on running for the next presidential race. The thing about this to me is that who in their right mind would want to vote for some of these idiots. We are not actually that stupid are we? The list goes on and on from people like Sarah Palin to Donald Trump to even Lady Gaga. The thought of Lady Gaga running the country is quite appalling to say the least. First thing is that you have to be older than thirty five to be president and Lady Gaga is only twenty five. Well I guess that’s one crisis adverted. Sara Palin is one person that always seems to be in the news about her running in 2012. This woman is unbelievable; I can't understand how she thinks that she is the right person for the job. Governor of Alaska, let's see then that gives her about as much qualifications as the mayor of Joplin. Obama, our current president, has obviously shown us that he is the worst president in recent history. He has accomplished absolutely nothing during his presidency besides force a healthcare bill onto the American people that they did not want. Some legacy that is. The fact is that this country is not in need of some charismatic leader. We don’t need a politician that can b.s. his way to the top and then kiss ever bodies asses to keep the position. I am personally sick and tired of all of these politicians trying to weave what they say so that no one gets offended. I personally believe that if you're speaking honestly about any important subject then you are probably going to offend someone. I know that this blog will probably offend someone but that is ok. I am entitled to my opinion and they are entitled to theirs. I invite them to comment back who knows I might actually change my opinion. The final person that I seen talk about running was Donald Trump. My first thought was really? Is this just some dumb publicity stunt? Then the more I thought about it the more I was considering the possibilities of Trump as president. First off he defiantly doesn't want to do it for money, Trump has plenty of that. Secondly he's not doing it for power because most people know that a billionaire has more power than the president of the United States. Thirdly maybe this is exactly what this country needs. Think about it, what is our worst problem we as a country have right now? Money, the economy is in terrible shape and who better to fix it then a billionaire that has handled huge amounts of money in and out of countless numbers of businesses. This country needs someone that knows their way around a budget and how to make a company successful. Besides the fact who wouldn’t want to see Donald go into some of these Washington fat cats offices and say "your Fired!"

Solution to high gas prices!

I recently was on Facebook and seen one of my friends was trying to get people to join together and have a gas boycott on a day in the near future to protest the high gas prices. The first thing that I thought about doing was deleting my friend for joining in on such a ludicrous idea. I couldn’t believe that he actually believed that this would work. As I looked more into it I realized that a lot of people think that this would work. IT WON'T!!!! I promise you that no big oil company is going to care in the least bit if you don’t buy gas on Thursday the 31st. The idea is that they will get hit because they won't sell any gas on the 31st so they will have record low sales. The other side of this that people don’t realize is that then they will have record high sells on the 1st because everyone that didn’t buy gas on  the 31st now has to fill up the very next day. Now don’t get me wrong I do think that something needs to be done but this is not the answer.
I propose a better solution all together. If a boycott is what people are willing to do then it needs to be done the right way. Don’t just boycott all gas for a day; instead what needs done is for someone to decide on one single company, like Exxon Mobile or ConocoPhillips. Then we as a nation or at least however many people that we can get together and completely stop buying from that one company. The only way it would work is if a very large number of people did this at once. All the people that agree to not buy from this one company should do it indefinably. Set goals like "only buy from this company if the gas drops below $2.00 a gallon there. This would cause the company to have to drop prices eventually or go out of business. Trust me they will cave. Then all the other companies will have to follow suit to be competitive with the one that the people caused to drop prices. This would work and I don’t think it would take very long for that said company to start dropping prices.
The problem with fuel prices is that the big oil companies set their prices on predictions of supply and demand. If they think that supply will drop then they raise prices if they think that demand will go up they raise prices. They don’t do this when supply goes down or when demand goes up they do it when they feel like it. Demand like summer driving should not raise prices. There are plenty of refineries running at less than half of their abilities just to keep supply down and prices high. The other thing that could be done is that this country buys more of the world's oil than any other three countries combined. We as a nation or government could set the price that we are willing to pay per barrel but we don’t. All we as a country would have to say is this is how much we are willing to pay for a barrel and not a penny more either sell it to us for that price or someone else will. We have that power as consumers but we don’t use it instead we let these money hungry oil tycoons set their prices and we just take it.

Japan Quake

This blog is about the 8.9 magnitude earthquake that happened this morning in Japan. The Quake hit at about 3:00 a.m. our time this was about mid day their time. The Earth quake was the biggest that Japan has recorded in recent history and one of the biggest ever recorded anywhere. The Damage from the quake didn't seem near as extreme as the damage that the tsunami after the quake caused.
I woke up this morning at 6:30 to take my oldest son to school as I was driving I heard the reports on the radio about the disaster. As soon as I got home I turned on the T.V. to see what was going on. The devastation that was being shown on the T.V. was amazing to say the least. I couldn't help to be slightly in awe of the power and force that comes with an earthquake. I personally have never been in an earthquake and don't think that I would want to be in one. We in the Midwest don't ever really have to worry about such a thing.
Our main concern is Tornadoes around here, they too can be quite awe inspiring. I for one have seen several tornadoes up close and personal and I'm quite amazed with them as well. The forces of nature on this Earth have got to make you sit back and think about how miniscule we really are. In the wake of a major earthquake, tsunami, tornado, or hurricane we are just dots on the horizon. As I watched those videos this morning (and a better part of the day) I thought about all of this and how is it that I could possibly have days where I think that I am the center of my own universe.  We are small compared to nature and if we think that we are special as individuals and that it wouldn’t happen to us we are sadly mistaken. Even an earthquake is possible, even right here in good ole Joplin Missouri. There is a fault line called The New Madrid that runs not too far south of I-44 and it is said that the last time that fault line had a quake it made the Mississippi river run backwards. That alone is amazing but imagine the destruction and damage that it would cause in this area with half of the land we live on undercut with all kinds of Mines.
I feel really bad for the people of Japan and I wish that all that are trapped or lost will be rescued. I believe that human life is sacred and we should do all we can to protect it whether or not we know the people that are in trouble. This is part of the reason that I plan to become a doctor because I want to help people. If I was already a Trauma surgeon I would probably be on a plane right now to Japan to see what I could do to help the people of that country.

Man Sues Sushi Restaurant

This blog is about a man in California Suing a Sushi restaurant called A Ca-Shi Sushi. The man claims that the Sushi restaurant discriminated against him because he is Diabetic and he didn't eat his Rice during an all-you-can-eat special. The deal was according to the restaurant was that you could have all you can eat sushi and rice and the man was only wanting to eat the sushi and not the rice. The man claimed that the since he was diabetic that he couldn't eat that much rice so he only wanted to eat the fish. The man is suing for $4,000 for “humiliation, embarrassment and mental anguish." The owner claims that he will fight the man in court because it would be wrong to just give in to this guy.

First things first her we have another free loader trying to take advantage of whatever he can. At first he was trying to scam this place out of a lot of sushi. Sushi isn't cheap and the $25 deal for all you can eat is dirt cheap. The man claimed that he was diabetic and that was why he couldn't eat the rice. the problem with his story is that a diabetic shouldn't be at an all you can eat anything. Diabetics have to watch their diet and too much of anything could be dangerous for them not just rice. Secondly the place was selling all you can eat Sushi, Sushi by definition is Rice (with raw fish) wrapped in seaweed. If you are ordering all you can eat then that means that you have to eat the whole thing that is served not just what you want to eat of it. Another thing is that there is a such thing as ordering just the fish and it is called sashimi, this was on the menu at Ca-Shi Sushi but the man wanted to take advantage and order the cheaper meal and scam the owner.
Lastly this just discuses me to no end. I cannot stand people that are this way. greedy worthless scum walking the planet just trying to make (or steal is a better word) money for doing absolutely nothing. I think that anyone that makes one of these frivolous law suits should be beaten.  It is like a few years back when some woman was suing McDonalds for spilling hot coffee in her lap. People will sue for anything these days just to make money that they didn't earn. Now don't get me wrong not all lawsuits are wrong, there is a time and a place that it does need to happen. but I wish that there was a clause in the legal system that punished stupid people for wasting the courts time. I know if I was on the jury there is no way that this idiot would ever get a dime from the store owner. Grow up people and take responsibility for yourselves, Don't take things that you didn't earn and especially don't take things form others that they earned(like this store owners money).

Middle east

This Blog is about all the unrest in the Middle East. We as a country do not understand what is happening in the Middle East. All we seem to care about is what we think it means for then in our narrow view point. These Islamic countries and Islamic people are not the same as us. They do not think the way that we do and they do not act the way that we do. We assume as Americans that the entire world thinks just like us and that they ultimately want the same things as us. I don’t mean at all that there are not people like us in these countries. There are good people there as well as bad but their core beliefs are not the same as ours. We think that if there is an uprising in Egypt then the people of that country have spoken and when it is all settled then they will be just like us. When the smoke settles in Egypt they will not just put up hundreds of mc Donald’s and malls. They will not become the self absorbed people that think that everyone should get along and hold hands like our liberal media seem to think. These people could not be more different than us. They are different all the way down to their core. Violence is a way of life for them. Walking out side in one of these countries it would not surprise them at the least to see a group of men walking down the street armed with AK47’s. If you seen this in Joplin, MO you would freak out. If you get a phone call saying someone in your family passed here you would assume a car wreck or something of that nature. There they would think quickly of the fact that their loved one was shot in a raid or attack. We would be outraged by police brutality like what happened here. We cannot allow ourselves to believe that for one minute we can understand what is going on in the Middle East. Egypt has overthrown an oppressive government, but does that mean that they are better off? I can’t say for sure what will happen but I do know one thing, if an extreme Muslim takes power then enacts Sharia law as their new form of rules they will not be better off. Sharia Law has so many restrictions and controls over personal life that the oppression of the Egyptian people would many times worse than it was before.  Just to show a little difference in Sharia law and what we in the us are accustomed to, in Sharia law homosexuality is a crime punishable by death, also women are not allowed to show skin, Ladies no more tee shirts let alone miniskirts. The point of this entire blog was basically to try and open some people’s minds as to what is actually going on. I am not saying believe everything I say because that is the main point. Look into things, don’t just take for granted what someone on a silly blog says, and don’t believe everything that the liberal media says either.

My day

This blog is just going to be a little rant about the day that we have had today. Today my wife and I received our federal tax returns. We decided that we would get out and pay our bills and also do a little shopping. My Wife and I like to pay several of our monthly bills ahead of time with our tax returns so that we don’t have to pay then throughout the year. After paying these we had quite a bit extra left over and decided to go and buy some things that we have needed.
The first on our list was new tires for our suburban. The suburban has been in need of new tires for quite some time now and we finally broke down and decided to get it done. We went to sears to have them put on and they took our truck in and started to work on it. We headed over to the mall to kill some time while they worked on the vehicle. We wondered around the mall for an hour and a half until finally they called. When they called they informed me of the fact that they were mistaken when they said that they had the tires in stock and that they didn’t have them in. The only option that they had was 80 dollars more per tire. I told them to just put the old ones back on and we would come get the truck. By this point I was getting aggravated since we already wasted an hour and a half waiting on them. We got back to the shop and it took another 30 minutes to get the old tires back on our truck. Finally they gave us back our vehicle and we were able to leave.
We ran a few more errands in town then went to Best buy to get me a lap top so that my wife and I weren’t fighting over hers to get school assignments done. I pick out a really nice 17 inch Hp that we bought while we were there. We also bought a new surround sound system that we could install in the living room. At this point our 2 year old son started getting aggravated with being trapped in various strollers, car seats, and shopping carts. We still had to drive to Baxter to get our oldest two kids so the car ride to baxter was pretty much miserable due to the icy conditions and an angry 2 year old.
When we got to Baxter I decided to stop by a tire place there in town and see what they had in stock. When I got there I found out that an old friend of mine worked there and he had a set of tires that were his and wanted to sell. The tires only had 1000 miles on them and were perfect for my truck. He also only wanted 300 dollars for the entire set of four so I was very fortunate that Sears didn’t have the ones in stock that I previously wanted. After finally getting a set of tires and picking up the kids we were able to drive home safe and sound. I am glad this day is over and now with finishing this blog I can rest.

On a side note I really need to quit waiting till the last minute to do these things. Now that I have my own computer I plan to get them done earlier.

Crazy weather

This blog is not about on particular story but about all stories in the news right now as far as weather. Anyone here in the mid-west I’m sure knows how terrible the snow has been this week. I am personally surprised about how much that we have gotten. I don’t remember it ever snowing like this in this area. I haven’t missed a winter in the mid-west in 28 years.  The Snow and ice has taken everyone by surprise and has caused a lot of injuries and other problems.
This story here is about how ice fell from the top of Cowboys stadium all the way down in Dallas. The story states that up to six people were injured as a sheet of ice fell off of the dome as workers were preparing for the super bowl that is planned for this Sunday. Dallas is not used to getting snow and ice. The whole town has been thrown into a panic I am sure of since the last time they had a few flurries I drove through Dallas and the entire town was practically shut down. They recorded 5 inches of snow there; the city is used to 50 degree temperatures at this time of year.
This story here is about the availability of supplies in Joplin since the storm started on Monday. The article says that if you want to buy a snow shovel in the city of Joplin then you might have a hard time finding one. It also states that dominoes and several other restaurants are low on supplies and have made a lot more deliveries than usual. This is one thing that really amuses me about storms. I have been to the stores and seen firsthand that they were out of all essential items like bread, milk, and eggs. The thing that amazes me and makes me wonder at the same time is, is there some kind of meal that people only prepare during storms that requires mass quantities of these three items? When we know a storm is coming we just go on about our lives in my family, if its grocery day then we get groceries, if it isn’t we don’t. The thing that I don’t understand is why people all of the sudden need bread, milk, and eggs? Didn’t they have to eat weather there was a storm coming or not?
This last article is about an accident that a couple had on highway 71 just into Arkansas. The couple ran into the center median and then off into the ditch. Neither of them were hurt but there was damage to their vehicle. This is what is really sad in this area. It seems that people don’t have a clue how to drive on icy or snowy conditions. The people in this area seem to be oblivious to the fact that snow and ice change driving conditions. I was out on the roads for a better part of the day today and I couldn’t tell you how many vehicles that I seen stuck. It is hilarious to see someone in a little car that has about three inches of clearance with the front of their car trying to go down a road that has ten inches of snow piled on it. One piece of advice that I can give is if you don’t know what you are doing on these roads then stay home and be safe.

A little about me

This blog is going to be kind of a reintroduction of me. I am 28 (almost 30 as my wife would put it) I am married and a father of three great kids. My oldest son is now nine and is in the third grade. My little girl is five now and is beautiful and my princess. My youngest boy is almost two and completely spoiled rotten. We are a happy family and as most families do we have our ups and downs. With three kids it can get kind of hectic from time to time. My wife and I are both in school full time here at southern and that alone can get kind of stressful. She is an English education major in her third year so she is taking a lot of writing intensive courses that require her to do a lot of reading so a lot of her free time is spent with a nose in the books.
I am a Biology pre/med major. I plan on going to med school as soon as I graduate Southern. My future plans are to become a surgeon of some sort. I lean towards either plastic surgery or trauma surgery.
I won’t really know what for sure that I will do until I get into med school and do some rotations in the different fields that I will have to chose from. I am trying to leave my mind open to the possibility of changing my plans. Who knows I may find a place in medicine that I didn’t know that I wanted to go into. My hopes are that one in particular field really stands out to me once I get there. I hope to have one of those “ahh ha” moments that tells me yea this is what I want to do for the rest of my life. This is what I hope at least but I don’t hold that as a major possibility. I have never had that deep desire for anything in my life. I have always been good at anything that I do but have never really said “yea this is what I love doing” Don’t get me wrong I do love medicine and the fields related to it. Biology has always been a special interest of mine and figuring out how things work has been a knack I have had all my life.
I love being in school and learning. I have spent the last ten years of my life working from job to job and doing things that most people wouldn’t be able to handle. I have worked construction in the hot sun and I have worked in the freezing cold. I worked in a foundry for a year. That place was so horrible that most people didn’t make it through orientation. The plant was 140 degrees most of the time and you worked with aluminum that was close to 2000 degrees so it could be a daunting job from time to time. Being in school is the best thing that I have done with my life besides my family. I really enjoy learning and also not having to work at some factory is nice too.

Dont ask Dont tell

This is a story about the “don’t ask, Don’t tell” rule being repealed in the military. The Military will begin training its people for the first time in February. The training will be going in three phases; first they will be training people like lawyers, chaplains, administrators and civilian personnel, then they will move on to leadership like commanding officers and such, lastly they will train the rest of the military.
This has been a largely disputed and controversial topic among a lot of people in and out of the military. People that are against repelling the law are claiming that letting people openly serve as gay or lesbian will cause people, both gay and not gay, a lot of problems. They say that it will cause harassment and also issues about privacy and worries about showers, restrooms, and barracks. I have friends that were in the Marines and they all say that the repeal of the law is a bad thing for the Marines. One friend of mine stated that the Marines operate at a level of battle that requires trust among members of a unit. These men have to go into these battles and look out for each other. If one or more guys in the unit are openly gay then there would most likely be homophobic tendencies of the other members that are worried about serving with a gay member.
The other side of this argument is that all people should be able to be themselves and if that is gay then they shouldn’t have to hide it. Arguments for repealing the law include people’s rights. Peoples rights are just that their rights. If someone is gay they shouldn’t have to hide it in fear of retribution of commanding officers or losing their jobs.
My personal belief on this is one of mixed emotions. I don’t believe that anyone should be forced to do anything that they don’t want to do. I don’t think that being gay or straight intitles you to anything better than the next person. My biggest question about this whole thing would have to be “why is this an issue?” that is what bothers me the most about the whole thing. Why is it that we have to make it a rule to not be openly gay or make a rule that it is ok to be openly gay? I understand that a lot of gay people might be offended that the rule was there in the first place. Do we really need to make this big of deal about it though? Why can’t they just get rid of the rule and go on with life. I’m not even sure what they could possibly be training people for on this subject. It is my understanding, and please correct me if I’m wrong, that Gays and lesbians want to be treated like everyone else. If this is the case then so be it. If you are gay then be gay if you’re not then don’t be gay it is a simple as that.  I don’t think that one trait about a person should decide who they are. I personally think that someone in the Marines, or any other branch for that matter is a soldier first then whatever else second. Gay is not a definition of someone just merely an aspect of that person.
