This article is about the Westboro Baptist Church’s plans to picket the late Elizabeth Edwards’ funeral. The article says that Westboro believes that God is punishing Americans for our tolerance to gays, Catholics, Jews and others.
This group is the most disgusting group that I have ever heard of. They make me sick using the name of God and claiming to be associated with Godly values. The bible that I have talks of tolerance and peace, I have never seen anywhere in the good book that states that you should do something so disrespectful to other human beings. God would not want for anyone to do this and I’m sure they are acting on the side of Satan more than God. I don’t know how they have gotten away with this for so long without some grieving parent or other family member doing something to stop it. Not that I would condone something like that but I can imagine all the things that would go through my head if they were protesting a loved one of mine. Some of these places that they have protested are in areas where it wouldn’t surprise me if someone ran off the road and hit a few of these protesters. These people need to learn some respect for life and common decency. No one no matter what they have done deserve to be treated like that after death.
As far as Edwards this woman was from all accounts a good person. I don’t believe that I have seen anywhere that she has done anything wrong to anyone. She has also had a pretty bad last few years with her son dying and getting cancer then all the hype over her husband cheating on her. I feel for her and wish that she may be buried in peace.
Very, very well said. In fact, I couldn't have said it better myself. I don't understand how not a single person has stood up to this madness. But you said it perfectly.
ReplyDeleteWow some people have no consideration for others. People can believe what they want but to go to someones' funeral and completely disrespect them and their family is outrageous. A group similar came to Lamar to protest a soldiers funeral and the entire town surrounded their protest and sang church music. For being christians they sure leave out the part in the bible where is says not to judge.....
