My day

This blog is just going to be a little rant about the day that we have had today. Today my wife and I received our federal tax returns. We decided that we would get out and pay our bills and also do a little shopping. My Wife and I like to pay several of our monthly bills ahead of time with our tax returns so that we don’t have to pay then throughout the year. After paying these we had quite a bit extra left over and decided to go and buy some things that we have needed.
The first on our list was new tires for our suburban. The suburban has been in need of new tires for quite some time now and we finally broke down and decided to get it done. We went to sears to have them put on and they took our truck in and started to work on it. We headed over to the mall to kill some time while they worked on the vehicle. We wondered around the mall for an hour and a half until finally they called. When they called they informed me of the fact that they were mistaken when they said that they had the tires in stock and that they didn’t have them in. The only option that they had was 80 dollars more per tire. I told them to just put the old ones back on and we would come get the truck. By this point I was getting aggravated since we already wasted an hour and a half waiting on them. We got back to the shop and it took another 30 minutes to get the old tires back on our truck. Finally they gave us back our vehicle and we were able to leave.
We ran a few more errands in town then went to Best buy to get me a lap top so that my wife and I weren’t fighting over hers to get school assignments done. I pick out a really nice 17 inch Hp that we bought while we were there. We also bought a new surround sound system that we could install in the living room. At this point our 2 year old son started getting aggravated with being trapped in various strollers, car seats, and shopping carts. We still had to drive to Baxter to get our oldest two kids so the car ride to baxter was pretty much miserable due to the icy conditions and an angry 2 year old.
When we got to Baxter I decided to stop by a tire place there in town and see what they had in stock. When I got there I found out that an old friend of mine worked there and he had a set of tires that were his and wanted to sell. The tires only had 1000 miles on them and were perfect for my truck. He also only wanted 300 dollars for the entire set of four so I was very fortunate that Sears didn’t have the ones in stock that I previously wanted. After finally getting a set of tires and picking up the kids we were able to drive home safe and sound. I am glad this day is over and now with finishing this blog I can rest.

On a side note I really need to quit waiting till the last minute to do these things. Now that I have my own computer I plan to get them done earlier.

  1. Wow, it sounds like you and your wife had quite the day. It almost sounds like the day my husband and I had two days ago. We bought a new car and on the way home our tire went completely flat so we had to find a tire shop in Springfield to get it fixed. We waited forever there. We had our 5 year old boy with us that was starving. We hadn't had lunch yet so it was very stressful. We finally had to walk accross the street so we could eat while they were working on the new car. After we finally got it back, on the way home we noticed the windshield was cracked at the bottom all the way accross! We were so frustrated. Needless to say, that gets fixed Monday. When it rains it pours doesn't it. Oh and I am also a procrastinator and tend to wait until the last minute to get homework done. It makes life a little more stressful. I guess its part of having a family and children. They take a lot of time but I wouldn't change it for the world. Hope you have a better week :)
