University Experiance

My first post this week is going to have to be a complaint. I don’t know about the rest of you but part of my being able to graduate from MSSU is that I have to take a university Experience class. This class is the most pointless class that I have ever taken in my life. I absolutely hate that class. I am 27 years old, I have three kids, I was a supervisor of a manufacturing plant for 4 years. The last thing that I need in college is to learn how to balance a check book, learn how to live without mommy and daddy, or any other god awful thing that they are going to try to “teach” me. For one thing I’ve been in the “real world” for ten years now. What could some college professor possibly teach me about getting surviving that I didn’t already know?  Now don’t get me wrong my professor is not a bad person or bad professor by any means and I do believe that there are college students that actually need this course to help them get their heads on straight. But I am defiantly not one of them. There needs to be a stipulation on that course that says if your 25 or have children or have been out of high
school for more than a year you don’t have to take the stupid course. For anyone that hasn’t had the joyous experience of this class we are also reading a book that is based around religious tolerance and comparing Christianity and islam as if they are the same. Not a big surprise since I am going to a liberal arts college but I mean really guys? I am also required to write a report describing how my journey as a first year student is like the one in this book. I am not a fan of this class obviously and would love to see the rules changed for future students to save them the aggravation that I have gone through.
